How long does it take for pizotifen to work for migraine relief?

I have been on pizotifen for a few days and wondered how long would it take to get rid of my migraines. Been on amitriptyline and norteiptyline which gave me bad sude effects and did not get rid if my migraine. The neurologist only confirmed that my gp was on the right track with medication for my migraines. Thanks for your help.

It may take several weeks for it to work, as it is a preventative drug rather than one which will treat your migraine when you have one. Therefore, it may take several weeks for the drug to build up in your system and so to prevent future migraines.
